Tommy Walker is a well known worship man with numerous albums to his name, so it's a little odd that, despite being the worship leader here, he isn't given a front sleeve credit. Tommy's approach to worship music is distinctly gospel-orientated and with a top rate band of Los Angeles session musicians including keyboard man Jeff Lams, drummer Bob Wilson and singer Linda McCrary, here leads worship at California's Saddleback Church for the Purpose Driven Worship Conference. The album, produced by Chris Harris with 3,000 worshipers, exudes atmosphere and it's refreshing to hear a batch of Walker's original compositions penned between 1999 and 2006. The simplicity of the songs, with the contrasting power behind the vocals of the choir conveys the fervent atmosphere that must have been present on the night of the recording. My favourite track is "When I Don't Know What To Do", with the lyrics 'When I don't know where to go, I'll run to your throne/When I don't know what to think, I'll stand on your truth'. The instrumental passage in "There Is A Rock" is also of the highest quality.
