Torn Skin are one of the leading industrial bands in America today. Pushing back well established boundaries within the genre; Rob Buhl (vocal/synth), Drew Calvetti (guitar/bass/synth/vocals) and Jennifer Happach (vocals) think nothing of experimenting with new ways of sonic manipulation - putting the very best in modern technology to the test as they take the listener with them on a journey of discovery. With 'Mislead', Torn Skin reintroduce their epic masterpiece "Shame" (as featured on 'Collapsing Structure - Part 2 Of The Cataclysm Singles' also on Blacklight Records), in conjunction with two new compositions "Mislead" and "Addiction" (an excellent sub-metal industrial noise scape). Far from being a run of the mill release, 'Mislead' also contains seven interpretations of the title track by such diverse industrial artists as fatal Blast Whip (neo-gothic darkwave), Colossal Spin (dance), Fish Tank 9 (ethereal sonic manipulation) and a superb rendition courtesy of Jan Carleklev (metal industrial); making 'Mislead' a highly accessible work of art for fans of the ever expanding industrial genre. Whether or not you'd be prepared to fork out a small fortune to obtain this disc is another matter.
