For 20 years Tramanie Hawkins has been at the forefront of the American traditional gospel industry. Renowned for her stunning voice and powerful ministry through song, as well as being the sister of the legendary "Oh Happy Day" writer Edwin Hawkins and being a member of his Edwin Hawkins Singers in the '60s and '70s. Homage to the most famous gospel song of all time comes via an impassioned rendition on this album. Passion is definitely a word you would associate with this recording, having been through five years of illness and struggle, this is Hawkins' way of giving thanks for coming through the other side when it would have been easier to give up. Featuring production and collaboration from Kurt Carr and the great Richard Smallwood this is an album where the live recording bristles with atmosphere. 'I Never Lost My Praise' is an emotional return by one of gospel's greatest musical ministers. Powerful stuff.
