Having reviewed their seven track offering in 2003, it is a welcome opportunity to witness this band's transition into 2005. With an autumn release scheduled in Taiwan - Transition are big in Taiwan (there's a story to be told here, surely) - these Bristol boys scrub up nicely with this their first full length album. Experimenting with their sound, a three track single "New Space" didn't quite feel like the Transition sound according to the band (though this reviewer really liked it!), and so with the help of producer Paul Banks and engineer Sam Bell, a full album of a dozen atmospheric and edgy songs was born with crystal clear sound to pronounce their well written lyrics. Despite me thinking that band member Steve was harsh in his comments on the band website about fellow band Athlete's 'Tourist' album, I won't hold it against the Transition lads. Actually, I think Transition would be worthy support of mainstream bands as they have got "something". Hopefully they will not remain undetected in the wider UK music scene. "While We Walk" is a superb opener - nice to hear a rare drum solo. But all the tracks work well, although a better vocal could have been coaxed through for "Taking Steps". My 16 year old daughter heard the sounds wafting through the house and said she thought it was good. So does this reviewer, more than that, very good.

I grew up with one of these guys and its great to see how far they have gone. In my opinion they should be a lot bigger than they are! I want to hear Transition on the radio!!! Keep it up guys!

Amazing guys! They've gone so far recently and changed quite a lot since Can't Keep Away and Tectonic Friction and matured so much! Love this album especially the Fox. Can't wait to see them live at the Bristol Carling Academy in December (tickets available at transition.tk) will be a big one.
