According to the blurb, this record was four years in the making, two of these in production. It would be a bit of a cheap shot to ask what on earth made it take that long, but the question does instantly arise. Truth is, however laudable Travis' intentions are (proceeds from his recordings benefit charities such as the Childrens' Wish Foundation and the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America to name just two), this cannot mask the fact that this is little more than an unremarkable collection of acoustic pop songs. The backing vocals really grate after a while and despite some neat touches - such as the piano in "I Am" - this has been a hard album to get through.
