As has been observed before in Cross Rhythms, black choir music is a much over-recorded genre. But this is an album worth investigating, a hit choir from Trinity Temple Full Church in Dallas with two exceptional leads, a hoarse voiced man who sings like John P. Kee and a sister who on "Amazing Grace" hollers herself into apoplexy and a tight, funky band. If you're looking for good choir music look no further.

The voice that sounds like John P. Kee is Carnell Murrell. He was the minister of music at Trinity Temple for a number of years, and he also wrote for DFW Mass Choir.
