On first glance, this looks an album worthy of attention by any gospel and R&B aficionados - the label is a well-respected outfit of longstanding, the Georgia Mass Choir aren't yer average bunch of hollerers who try to make up in volume what they lack in technique, and it isn't short on playing time at over 55 minutes. Mr Sneed and the choir give it some welly on the up-tempo tracks, and the slower ones are reverently rendered, but overall, Troy and his fellow-writers have come up with a bunch of songs that are rather ordinary, and the performance contains all the gospel cliches - "Can I get a witness?", "Put your hands together!", "We're gonna have church!" are just three that crop up at regular intervals. I don't care for the editing either; fading outros and applause, and then fading in the intro over the remnants of the last applause at the start of the next track, all destroy the atmosphere of a live recording. Despite its underlying quality, it's not an album that remains too long in the memory.
