The debut LP from the young Manchester band is short but definitely sweet. The opening track, "Real Love", is a classic dance anthem that teeters on the verge of hip-hop. Even though you keep expecting to hear dirtier drums to push it through the barrier, the track lacks nothing, and you could easily imagine listening to it in clubland. The second track, "Fix Me", finishes what the first was building up to and is an incredibly catchy hip-hop track. Hearing young and extremely talented artists proclaiming the Gospel in such a refreshingly original way is what makes this three-song debut first-class. The CD closes with the slower paced but equally punchy "Avenue" and delivers some hard-hitting lyrics: "Jesus Christ - you might just know the name as a swear word but I'll show you it's so much more." Clear evidence that the Genetik training school is turning out the next generation of top rate musical evangelists.
