As with volume one, this compilation is of limited interest to gospel collectors though there is an intriguing track by The Four Southern Singers who do a gospel song "Be Ready" based in part on "Old Time Religion". Also, collectors might want to investigate the Norfolk Jazz Quartet though their two tracks are strictly secular with "Shim Sham Shimmie At The Cricket's Ball" a bizarre tale about an insect dance that describes the antics of bed bugs, fleas and Spider Bill who are "highly entertained by Sister Moth-eaten Lil." Elsewhere on this set there are plenty of Calloway, Mills Brothers and Ink Spots-style finger snappers and ballads.
