Tooth & Nail's Solid State subsidiary specialise in bands of the harder nature and this DVD is a collection of their most recent music videos. The label has had considerable success in recent years with bands such as Norma Jean and Underoath becoming some of the biggest names on the scene. Do their music videos reflect these high standards? Not at all. In fact, some of them are terrible. Each of Underoath's three videos is particularly uninteresting as the band performs accompanied by some props or graphics vaguely relating to the lyrics. Inhale/Exhale's videos look like they were shot on a zero budget and the fire effect on Becoming The Archetype's "Endure" are simply embarrassing. Not all of the videos are so bad. Dark imagery and some useful camera work makes Demon Hunter look quite the part in "One Thousand Apologies" (although let's face it - it'd be a struggle to make Demon Hunter look anything other than downright scary) and for "We Faced Each Other", studio photographs of The Chariot have been turned into an animated video with great effect. Not entirely dissimilar, He Is Legend's simple slideshow of tour photos is surprisingly powerful. But overall, the vids ehre are pretty substandard.
