On the second volume of this charity project, The Altar Billies make an appearance changing the tone completely with their rockabilly-edged acoustic tones, and it was pleasing to hear Christian punk pioneer Nobody Special making an appearance. All tracks are delivered with a gritty hard edge and a down to Earth honesty, but there are a large number of tracks that do not quite work for me and some are clearly poor sound-quality demos. Still, one can applaud the musical diversity, which takes in reggae, black metal and spoken word, while the mammoth list of artists includes The Ben Aldrich Project, Platoon 1107, Tantrum Of The Muse, Blaster The Rockerboy and Parental Petulance. There are certainly a sufficient number of tracks of high quality to make a recording, but I feel that this would make a more satisfying listen if the track listing had been refined and culled somewhat to make this the sort of album you could listen to in one sitting. As a starting point to investigate new punk and hardcore acts, however, this charity recording contains a glut of acts that range from the established, to quirky and obscure, making it good value for money.
