Wake Up And Wash is the third part in a collaborative series of evangelistic EPs coordinated by Pastor Yinka from Joy House London. Its purpose is to challenge believers in how they're living out their faith and to draw unbelievers into discovering the Gospel. Packed with the same passion and punch as their previous excursions, the constant that gives the JET project its charm is in both its bold and quirky lyrics. "Breakfast" (Ibe Giantkiller and C4C) is a primary example. The message being, just as you would eat breakfast at the start of the day to ensure you gain the necessary nutrients so should you also feed yourself spiritually by reading the Bible at the start of the day. Combining reggae with hip-hop "I Will Love you Forever" (Prince Ris and Israel) is a catchy dance song that puts a different spin on modern worship music. "What Are You Dancing For?" (Elliot Hall) speaks of epidemics of slavery and racism in the world which Pastor Yinka says whilst it's good to dance, we should be dancing to end such injustices. A couple of the tracks are lacking a convincing vocal performance which distracts from both the music and its message while the production is no more than small studio grime/hip-hop standard.
