Nice to hear a compilation where the overall production and variety of tunes isn't patchy. Though that said, some tracks did lack creativity, summed up by the Paradox quote "Music that's best ,no gimmicks no hype, just a keyboard and pen.." (The last thing rap needs is to be dumbed down.) Anyway, a notable feature of the album's production is a strong, hook-rich element to many tracks. From the token soulish number "We Cry Together" with its acoustic/choral harmonies, really smooth, through to the Balkan vibe of "Touch The Sky" by the Missionary Men, featuring a well crafted, multi-layered mix of unusual sounds, beats and vocal samples, this crew are hot (see their 'Homesick' album review). A light hearted old school collaborative number finishes off the album well with a bouncin' headnodder of a vibe before the anthemic outro. A nice offering, well worth the gettin' if you need to get a handle on who's doin' what.
