In case you're the last person in Christendom to know, Veggie Tales retell biblical stories by using vegetables as the characters. Mixed in with humour and songs and aimed at children of all ages (including the adult type) there is a moral lesson attached. In this DVD we have Dave squaring up to a giant pickle and along the way learning a valuable lesson on self-esteem. The song "Love My Lips" gives us a short but much loved (by my wee'uns anyway) interval before returning us back to the main action - a colourful retelling of the story of David and Goliath. The computer generated animation is top class and although some of the earlier tales were released on video tape in the early 1990s, to move with the times they have now been released on DVD, but now come not only with that all important 5.1 surround sound but there are added interactive extras that were not included on the original video tapes. Some of the extras include a "Veggie Karaoke" and tips on how to draw a couple of the characters who appear in the movie. Great fun and if you haven't seen the "Veggies" in action before then this would be an ideal place to start.
