Reviewed by Brian Lincoln ‘Adoration’ is a selection of some of Vinesong’s best loved songs, issued under the new VM Music banner, set up to make Vinesong music albums more directly available. Containing some 15 tracks, and lasting 63 minutes, the album is good value, but to me the music sounded a little too ‘samey’ and with the bass too obtrusive. Good anointed lyrics and excellent musicianship were for me spoiled by preferred live recording, with natural acoustics. Tracks that I liked: “God Answers Prayer”, “Let Your Living Water”, “Worship The Lord” and the best on the album, “Peace Like A River”. Currently on tour in New Zealand, Vinesong are based in England, although John Watson the founder and leader (and most prolific lyricist) was born and raised as a third generation missionary in Zimbabwe. Other team members are from England, Guyana, Bulgaria/Sweden, Holland, United States and Switzerland/Italy. Vinesong is described as an equipping ministry and should not be stereotyped as a musical form of Christian entertainment but as providing a time of spiritual refreshment, challenge and change to people’s lives.
