As far as I'm concerned Songs Of The Vineyard went off the creative boil a couple of years back. Too much of their material seemed to be praise-by-numbers and though there were some wonderfully anointed songs tucked away on their albums, and they have thankfully never descended to the production-line-praise vapidity of the Hosanna! Music series, their lack of consistent quality control after their magnificent early albums was for me quite disappointing. The selection on 'Give Him Praise' takes in material as far back as 1980 (with the-man-himself John Wimber's beautiful ballad "Isn't He") through to Andy Park's "Psalm 63" of last year. Good album, but not a great one.
