Another long-lived series from Vineyard, and in the past the Winds Of Worship series has given us some magical moments in its peregrinations around the world. Recorded live at the City Church in Seattle, this is a mix of old and new songs (the two old ones are classics: Sally Beck's "Psalm 9" and Danny Daniels' "Mighty Saviour", from 1987 and 1989 respectively), and all concerned give strong performances, although the credits on the sleevenotes don't actually tell us who is singing what. Never mind, the musical future of the Vineyard is safe in the hands of these young lions and lionesses. It occurs to me that Vineyard may have learned a few lessons from Hillsongs, which is no bad thing; VCF praise and worship was in the doldrums in the early '90s, but it's improved out of all recognition over the last five years or so. I doubt if you'd be dissatisfied if this found its way into your CD player, not least because the playing time is nearly 74 minutes. Well worth considering.
