I must admit to having not listened to many live worship albums recently but I certainly haven't heard one this good before! The songs leapt out of my stereo and hit me squarely between the ears thanks to some stunning recording, classy song writing and a very high standard of musicianship. The first track "Better Than" really sets the tone of this collection of songs led by worship leaders David Ruis and Brent Helming and sends us into some high energy praise with an infectious rock/blues style. There's an air of quality that surrounds this album that is difficult to express but probably epitomised in "You", a haunting yet driving ballad, and "Arms Of My Father", a soft sentiment of love which stand out in my mind as classics. The heart that this album communicates is a real sense of worship, I've been drawn closer to the Father and felt the tangible presence of the Spirit as the songs have played over.
