In the same way that the blues gradually moved from being purely an African American music form to become an international musical language appreciated and performed by all manner of non-black musicians so jazz funk has gone a similar cultural diversification. So are you ready for jazz funk served up by a Serbian living in Switzerland? No doubt you will be after you get to hear this scorching album featuring the sinuous vocals and funky compositions of this blue-eyed soulman. What helps hugely in the groove department are the musicians and singers Vlada has called in to help him on the project with big time names like Abraham Laboriel, Kirk Whalum, Take 6 and Paul Jackson Jr providing absolutely slamming accompaniments to Vlada's songs of faith. And there's even an appearance from Sweden's hugely funky keyboard player Per-Erik Hallin to further reinforce the truth that white musicians can be genuine guardians of the groove. Plenty of excellent songs here too with the title track opener clearly spelling out that the whole exercise is all about Jesus Christ and "Judge Not" a sizzling cut you'll be hearing on Cross Rhythms radio in the coming months. Last year Mike Rimmer named 'All About You' as one of his favourite albums of the year. Search this out and you'll hear why.
