This is a teaching tape or, as the blurb goes, a hip-hop guide 'to effective prayer'. It comes within our sphere of interest because of its effective use of music. Tacklin the subject of intercession, Fraser Grace and Nick Pettingale put the message across using local accent from all over the UK. The device works. By the end I found a strong desire had possessed my being to strangle the Liverpudlian youngster who kept on making the unprecedented statement, "standin' between two werlds!" The humour of the tape is sometimes poignant, like when the general public are stopped in the street and asked what intercession means. "I'll be damned if I know," replies one man, perhaps more accurately than he realises. Another said, "God knows," and the dialogue goes on to teach us how we can, too. The music is originated by Jonn Markin, Steve Ridley and Clive Davenport and used as a background wash with great effect, while at various times throughout the listener is asked t< intercede with only the music playing. Some startling facts hits us about the world we live in and we are encouraged to intercede using specific requests about specific situations. This highly imaginative teaching tape encourages us to do what is most important but very often neglected.
