This album was written by Wes, who is associated with the chaplaincy of a Birmingham prison and who wanted to write songs that would be appropriate to a prison audience, but also to apply to a wider demographic. The acoustic 'singer/songwriter' style that this album embodies has long been a winner for worship records because of the way that the focus is drawn to the message of the vocal. This album is no exception, with strong lyrics throughout. And the raw sounding, almost DIY style production conveys a certain sense of honesty. Once you get past the cheesy, synthesised strings, there is some charming, heartfelt music within.
