For those who have been following this definitive series all we need to do is give the full details. We have reached 1589 and can enjoy eight motets plus the featured work: "Propers For Lady Mass From Christmas To The Purification". The Cardinall's Musick, directed by Andrew Carwood, are in superb voice and on this disc sing a cappella throughout. The booklet notes by David Skinner are exemplary. William Byrd is one of England's finest composers; this edition is a worthy testimony.
