Producer Stephen Elkins has come up with another 20 songs according to his tried and tested formula. A young child reads a story from the Bible (on this album the stories are all about children - Joseph, David, Moses, Josiah etc) and there follows a song sung by a bunch of children to a rather uninspiring backing track. You can download the lyrics from the Wonder Kids website and use the split track facility to enable your three to seven year old charges to warble along to the songs. The stated aim in the sleeve notes is "making the Bible relevant and fun," but at times the archaic language is a barrier to that aim. But the fact that it's performed by youngsters themselves (albeit young citizens of the USA with amazingly sugary voices) may well strike a chord with some junior listeners this side of the Atlantic. No doubt there are plenty more of these albums in the pipeline.
