The latest in a long line of children's releases from the American Wonder Kids ministry, this three disc compilation sees a generous 60 hymns performed by children themselves and is designed to enable Sunday Schools to sing along by allowing them to filter out the singing using the balance control of their stereo. Unfortunately, this is pretty excruciating stuff and many a classic hymn has been murdered here thanks to the saccharine and occasionally tuneless voices of the child performers and the kind of cheesy backing you would expect from a bargain basement Casio keyboard. Hymns ranging from "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art" - set to a particularly tasteless bossa nova beat - right through to "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" are featured and, whilst it is right that children should experience these musical bedrocks of the Christian faith, little has been done to ensure that their legacy remains intact.
