Yippee everybody! It's the Wonder Kids! In this latest release from the Wonder Kids conveyor belt the kids "have selected the best songs from Contemporary Christian Radio and recorded them just for you". There are some strong if unimaginative song choices here including the rock worship of "Blessed Be Your Name", "I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever" and "I Can Only Imagine" along with Casting Crowns' "Voice Of Truth". But the question keeps coming back, who is going to listen to these? The kid's voices are samey and most people (including children I suspect) will prefer to listen to the versions heard on the radio. But hang on a moment, this is a split track release, so you can turn off the kids and sing along to the rock backing. Sadly the backing tracks too are limp and uninspiring facsimiles of the originals. Judging from the number of releases from the Wonder Kids over the last few years they obviously think there's a market for this, but my advice to children of all ages is don't let your parents buy this one for you!
