Having had the unenviable task of reviewing several of these CDs over the past couple of years, I'm beginning to wonder why they're not called 'Cheesy Wonder Kids'. The formula of relating a Bible verse or very short story to a jolly little song, which has been tried and tested (and presumably not found wanting, as this is the latest in a very long line of offerings), is here used to "teach character". So, with the help of featured vocalist Mary Rice Hopkins, some rather unimaginative backing music and choir of bored American children, 1 Peter 2:17 leads into "R-E-S-P-E-C-T" (sadly not the Aretha Franklin version), Proverbs 17:17 leads into "Be A Friend", 1 Thessalonians 5:16 gives us "Be Joyful Always" - you get the idea. There are twelve songs on the CD and all of them are repeated in split track, in case you want to try it with your own choir of bored children. It's aimed at 4-9 year olds, but there are much better offerings for them on the market than this.
