For a four-track EP we have certainly got variety from the self-titled Word Of Mouth. I feel it is unfair to categorise this band as they've managed to bridge quite a wide spectrum of styles. We start off with a spread of harmony vocal on "Can't Believe" followed by what I would class as a progressive folk influence with a voice reminiscent of Sheila Walsh, flute playing akin to that of Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull fame, courtesy of Jeremy Chapman. "Was It For Me" has a definite Celtic feel and suits Liz Shea's vocals perfectly, which with its acoustic ambience wouldn't be out of place on an Iona album (dig the violin work). "Adam's Legacy" again has strong tinges of Sheila Walsh, not bad comparison, although I'm not sure of the market of this style in the 1990s. One thing I must say is that lyrically this band aren't afraid to nail their colours to the cross. Finally we have the Celtic/folk-influenced "River Run". This is an excellent song of testimony and finishes with the words "Jesus has washed me clean" which I would say caps this band's motives for playing music.
