This is a band that has (to quote an old Anointed song) come a mighty long way in a very short time. Back in 1995 I reviewed the band's debut cassette 'Bridge', and pronounced it "promising". Having heard the band live at Cross Rhythms Reformation Of A Generation, I can now report that the band have left the "promising" category and entered into the fully accomplished, and this album proves it. WWE have developed their own melodic Brit-pop style from their previously perceived influences, but with a surprise or two; violins (violins?) on "Life", that belts along over a driving beat (the only problem is the track's only two minutes 20 seconds long); a Gaelic intro into "Hold Me Tight, with more violins; "I Know" features a real horn section, and "How Long" starts moody and ambient with acoustic guitar and swirling synths, and then pumps up the volume to drive home the message " Are we waiting for our Saviour to come.How long will you be waiting?" My only gripe is short playing time; only eight songs, 34 minutes; more, more!!
