Worship Together have been running a hugely successful website for worship leaders for 10 years and now they have gone into the studio to produce this collection of songs. This two CD set offers all new recordings of "25 songs that know and sing weekly at church" and most were written in the last 10 years or so, with the exception of "Amazing Grace" (Chris Tomlin's version) and a new take on "How Great Thou Art". You will certainly find a few of your current favourites here. Although it is always a shock hearing a new arrangement of any song, I can't really fault the way that these songs have been covered. I like the uncomplicated sound that producer Allen Salmon gets. It's more like a live band playing than a studio recording. Four solo singers (sadly unnamed) cover all the vocals and make a pretty good job of it. The band is small (acoustic and bass guitars, drums and djembe, percussion, keyboards, plus programming) but the sound is tight. So if you're looking for versions of "Everlasting God", "Better Is One Day", "Here I Am To Worship", "God Of Wonders", etc, etc and don't mind too much that the recordings aren't the originals, this is worth checking out.
