Take a bit of jazz, a bit of pop and a bit of inspiration and you have Worx Of Grace. This Australian outfit is built around the talents of singer/songwriter, pastor's daughter Silja-Jade Henaway whose striking voice is offset by the excellent guitar talents of Paul Smyth. Mainly placed in an inspirational setting, the band sadly fall into blandness here and there. However, on the title cut they build from the encouraging lyrics and suddenly there's a bit of a guitar workout taking place, whilst on "He's Coming Back" and "I've Got Something" have a touch of rock'n'roll thrown in, albeit easy listening, churchy style rock'n'roll!. For me the opening cut "Hosanna" captures the passion and talent of the band. A bit of intensity, strong message, powerful singing from Henaway, excellently supported by Smyth's punchy guitar and the rhythm section of bassist Gavin Power and drummer Farren Merrypor. Unfortunately, Worx Of Grace don't sustain this sort of power across the whole album.
