Yvette has been leading worship around the Worcester area for a number of years now, and this is her second album of mostly self-penned songs. The heart is definitely one of worship and the lyrics are mostly quite personal and intimate. So the puzzling thing is the variety of musical styles experimented with: Yvette's voice is not really up there with the Margaret Beckers and Rebecca St.Jameses of this world, so when trying a '90s Brit pop number, or a Thin Lizzy blues-rocker, it's rather akin to mixing a delicate sushi dish with vindaloo! Also it's not helped by the somewhat wooden and detached performances from the rhythm section (showing a lack of recording experience perhaps?). If Yvette kept to the more acoustic, almost Celtic feel displayed in songs such as "Ultimate Sacrifice" and "My Precious Treasure" I'm sure she would find a more loyal, less confused audience.
