Not many churches put together their own tapes, come to that not many are able to provide an album of totally local-based material with local-based artists. Such, happily, is not the case with the Zetland Centre in the North Yorkshire town of Richmond. Courtesy of Andrew Hargreaves, their resident Graham Kendrick, this album has some truly memorable moments. "I Am Cleansed From Within" would be well received in many other churches and is very much in the "Purify My Heart" Doerkson mode. "A Heart That Is Perfect For You Lord" bounces along with all the joy you'd expect from a much bigger church and "Opportunities", the 'different' song on the album provides a distinct variety to the rest with a unique male lead. There are some which don't come off, the opener being my least favourite track but this is more than just a tape for the people of Richmond, it's a showcase of a praise songwriter as yet unsung. Definitely worth a listen and I guarantee you'll be humming one or two of these melodies weeks after you've first heard them.
