Our American cousins do this kind of thing superlatively. Hooks full of anthemic singalong potential; layers of rock guitars; tricky synth stabs; explosive drum tracks; lyrics which make simple spiritual points with all the subtlety of a King James across the cranium. If you don't like American spiritual pop rock this will be an album to avoid like the plague. But if you go for the powerpop genre, and have yet to discover Al, who in the States is a tireless worker doing crusades and youth celebrations by the hundred, this album is worth searching out.
