Ed Englerth is a musician and songwriter from Michigan whose mournful voice fits perfectly with this album of songs looking at the struggles of life. Ed is a consummate musician, playing most of the instruments on the album and also taking production and engineering credits. The songs are not often overtly Christian, but take a broad look at the human condition, from the just-for-fun "I Don't Want To Wake Up", about getting up in the morning (we've all been there), to the more serious, looking at the way we often gloss over rifts in relationships, as in "We Explain It Away", or at the way anger builds up in us sometimes, as in "Angry". On a more spiritual level there is "Long Time", where the lapsed Christian turns again to God in prayer, and "God In A Box", about how so often we like to keep God in his place. The title track "D.I.A.L. Business", or Death Is A Lonely Business, is a stark look at death and obviously based on a personal experience, but sadly it seems so final with no mention of Christ's saving love, although perhaps that's the point - when it's too late, it's too late.
