I still haven't figured out how to pronounce Usynlig Tumult properly and have no one from their native Ukraine to advise me but believe me, this album is heavy! The vocals of this duo sound uncannily similar to the more villainous cast of Lord Of The Rings so don't expect to hear the lyrics - just consult the sleeve later. The average Cross Rhythms reader may find the Scandinavian inspired dark metal style either horrifying or hilarious. However if you can acclimatise to the brutality of the sound the album is actually quite melodic and I find myself liking it more and more. The blend of the chilled and visceral does work pretty well together and if you already like your metal Scandinavian this should compare pretty well to other black metal bands. Metal this heavy is quite a specialist taste so this purchase is for those feeling adventurous. Still if nothing else you can still get a kick out of introducing your friends to 'Christian-dark-Scandinavian-ambient-thrashcore' just to see the reaction!
