SHOW INFO

The Gospel Blues Train

The Gospel Blues Train With Lins Honeyman celebrates the work of gospel blues pioneers such as Blind Willie Johnson, Rev Gary Davis and Sister Rosetta Tharpe whilst looking at the work of subsequent and current artistes who have helped keep the genre alive. Occasionally the Train takes small diversions into bluegrass, gospel, funk and soul territories and seeks to educate and entertain at every point.

Regular features such the Double Take - where Lins plays the original or definitive version of a blues classic and immediately an updated version by another artist - are included as well as the Blues Spotlight which looks a little more closely at the work of an important person in the world of gospel blues.

In addition, the likes of American bluesmen Eric Bibb, Glen Kaiser and Rev Jimmie Bratcher have already contributed specifically to the show whilst, in the UK, Radio 2's Paul Jones and soul singer Ruby Turner have also exclusively featured.

Join Lins as he takes you on a journey into the abundant world of gospel blues every Saturday at 11pm on Cross Rhythms Radio.
