Comment: I enjoyed reading your article Mike. It certainly also brought memories back for me. Those were really the days. I was also a young teenage believer at that time and also used to go digging through the record shelves of local christian bookstores in Cape Town for nice loud and upbeat ccm. I can agree with you on your experience that in those days the very conservative and staid staff (and they were usually middle to old age ladies) were very reluctant to play christian rock on the shop's music system when you wanted to listen to them first before spending your precious few bucks. I remember the British bands like Mark Williamson Band, Bryn Haworth and some others At that time in South Africa, we were treated to ccm rock by radio shows like Tony Louch's " Sounds of Triumph " on Radio 5. He loved playing Cliff Richard's music.
