Comment: I first heard the Spirit of Memphis Quartet at the "National Baptist Convention" in 1955. I was ten years old, and I have never forgotten the sounds, the words, nor the melody, I heard then. My Grandmother took me to the convention, she was a graduate nurse from Memphis, who moved to Illinois, with her husband and my Mother. She later brought the group to Murphysboro, Il. For appearances. The song Jesus, Lord Jesus, by Bledsoeis ingrained in my mind ..... Forever. AMEN.
