Leaving your church

I have heard many people say, "If you find a perfect Church don't join it as you might spoil it!" The trouble is that like every other organisation, the Church consists of imperfect human beings and will therefore always go through good and bad times.

Without knowing the exact details of the situation it is difficult to advise and only you can decide the best course of action. The ideal scenario is for you to stick in there to pray and be an influence for good. It is always good to look at your own life and check that you are not exasperating any problems that there might be. Also if you have a grievance against the Church then book a meeting with the leadership in order to get it sorted out.

If things do not improve and you are finding that your spiritual life is starting to suffer then it may be helpful to start thinking about joining another Church and looking to see if you would fit in better elsewhere. Always be upfront about what you are doing and make sure that as far as possible you do not cause offense. The Bible teaches that we should be loving and considerate in all that we do.
