This has been a very interesting and touching story. I used to take my son to Christian concerts. The Newsboys were our favorites. Peter came up to my son during an intermission. Noticing that he was wearing a Newsboys' dogtag, comments to him about it . My son was awestruck. So sorry to hear of Johnny James' sad journey but so glad he's back on the right track. God Bless you John. You were an inspiration to me and my son. You are even a bigger inspiration now.

I did research on the whole Newsboys album and who actually did the vocals for hell is for wimps second album and I can completely understand about your testimony John James but I do have to say that album was very heart touching touch my life there was an anointing on that album that's for sure whatever happened behind the scenes that was going on that was not good I believe it's just an attack from the enemy Satan and I will definitely pray for John James I would like to see God use you again like he has used you before to touch many lives through your previous albums. I believe stuff does happen even when you're going through the good times the enemy might see that you are a contagious figure for Christ Jesus and might try to steal what you have just like the enemy attacked Job he was doing so well I believe when we get attacked we can't put our guard down we need to pray really hard we need to intervene with the Lord above everyday every-night and I'm speaking to myself as well I pray for God to use you again John James you have a powerful gift a gift that has touched many lives including mine and my cousins maybe someday I can meet you in person mr. John James just to hear your testimony and God bless you my brother!

Wonderful post. I believe that’s exactly how Satan works.
It’s easy to let down our guard when things are going well. I need this reminder always. We believers cannot give the devil a foothold. We must stop him at the very beginning of his attack. I pray we stay strong in Christ and overcome!

This is very much a well known fact of fame.... John, there is a song written about this by Kenneth Copeland called "Rosanna". That said, The Newsboys was the only band who helped pull me out of a life of devastating sin. Thank you.

Thank you for this inspirational testimony. Know that it is helping people all over the globe. I was married to an amazing man for 20 years when he started on the road to alcoholism. He was an abusive husband and father and we still bore the scars 30 years later. Our story didn't end as well as yours. He died of his alcoholism. I never abandoned him. He died at home with his family around him telling him it was OK for him to go. Why he could not respond to our help is still a mystery. After his death I found a one sentence note in his hand witting: "I should have loved you more." He had more struggles than we were aware of and I am encouraged our continued love was not wasted. We were left with our own struggles and for 15 years I could not grieve my loss even though I had good Christian counsel. Michael Tait is now lead singer of Newsboys but it was his solo song "Holding Out for Grace" that this year opened my heart and completed the process. Newsboys have a supernatural legacy of healing hearts that goes beyond the present. Thank you Lord for Newsboys; past, present and yet to come. Amen

Im a drummer that play for a church and a gospel county band im also a big fan of newsboys im so moved by this story its proof god is awesome no matter what you did god is with you all the way don't stop believing

I watched his testimony at Honey Lake Church on YouTube. I had no idea any of that happened. I grew up listening to them. First concert I ever went to was Take me to your leader. Does anybody know how or where to get the DVD he talks about at beginning? I can't find it anywhere but would love to get a copy or two for my church's library and to give to a few ppl.

God judges us the way we judge other people. Even Tupac had it right when he said "only God can judge me" good luck John,for all have fallen short of the glory of God. I can remember being at the silver dome in Michigan about 10 ft away feeling like I wanted to die. You looked at me and gave me a thumbs up. You helped God save me. Thanks John
