Wow brother denny! Been many many years! Would love to hear from you sometime. My hair is more gray than red, and we're a long way from San Jose, but we still know how to rock and roll!

I`ve known the band People since I was in *th grade, they played at our 8th grade school dance, Darthmouth Junior High School, I remember Larry stood out so well because of his striped socks, I was standing right in front by the speaker, I followed People and became friends w/Denny and I met his wife lynn. I called them once and they were at a party in La, they both made me feel really special, I saw Larry at the fair grounds in Santa Clara once Fairgrounds, I gave him my phone# and he called he was real sweet, and at a much later time when he started doing Christian Music and sang at Leigh High School in San Jose,CA MY Younger brother used to take drum lessons at Waltrips music in San Jose, and I saw Geoff and Rob`s card on the bulletin board, I think they lived somewhere near Cherry Ave or near Hillsdale ,my friend walked by their house once, special trip, we lived by Blossom hill and Camden I hadn`t seen them for years and a friend of mine told me they entered the music hall of fame in san jose,ca, no surprise, She later told me Larry had died. Very special man, and as I will continue to say "I Love You is still playing in my head, And I don`t Know What to Say yay" thank you for letting me vent ,miss those guys, question is it impossible to direct any email to them directly? I have a comment for Dennis Fridkin. So, you are the composer and drummer on the song "Apple Cider." I still have that 45 RPM record, and in 1968, I played it for my friend and fellow aspiring drummer Tommy Aldridge when we both lived in Jackson Mississippi. We were hip to the Cream and the Who, but that song was a milestone event for us as it was the first song we had ever heard on the radio that had the two bass drums doing 16th notes, even if briefly. We both flipped over it. We immediately combined our drum sets in my garage and set out to master that beat, and Tommy soon thereafter got his first double-bass drum kit. And, as they say, the rest is history. Tommy has gone on to distinguish himself as a paragon and exemplar of double-bass drumming, and is famous for it all around the world, playing drums with Pat Travers, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, etc. So, Denny, look what you unleashed! And it all started with "(I know a girl with lips like) Apple Cider." I just thought you might like to know this little anecdote from a fan, and what an influence you were on the drumming world. -- Bobby in Atlanta

Denny, I worked with Lynn when she worked for the chiropractor and would love to locate her now. Would you be able to help me?

Boris Fridkin is my grandfather..I have pictures of him and pictures of the troupe and his son Leo, who is my uncle. My mother Aileen was his daughter and was in the troupe with them for awhile. Would love to share some of the pictures, I never knew them they both went to heaven before my mother was l5. I have a picture of his grave, but have no idea where it is. Please if there is anyway for this information to get to his grandson, it would be a little bit of a miracle in itself. Thank you for at least given me an avenue to try and reach family. Nona Ann

Was there not a drummer/singer in the band "People", when the song "I Love You" came out, named Steve Boatwright? I Thought he might have sung some lead. An incredible voice. I know 'cause I used to gig with him in the 80's and 90's. And a great guy, besides.

I saw and spoke with Steve Boatwright back around the start of this century and he was, at that time, working as the Business Manager at KFOX radio. I still have his business card.

Hey Don...

I remember Steve Boatwright ...When I knew him he was working for NBC Booking Agency out of Campbell, CA ...Kenn Ellner (lead singer/harp player from The Count Five) had bought the agency from Barry Weinroth, who owned Guitar Showcase ...Steve wasn't playing at that time, which would've been around 71-74 ...somewhere in that time frame ...I was in a group out of Palo Alto, Ca called Madness ...Steve was an agent, working for Kenn, (who was also managing a group named Gropus Cackus at that time) and got us a lot of gigs ...He was a nice guy, fine drummer and had a hot voice ...Do you know what became of him? ...Is he still around.

Cheers, ...Steve.

I knew Denny when he was married to Lyn. We were friends for years. I have 4 kids, three daughters and 1 son. They were ALL in love with him. I was newly divorced and having a ball hangin' with the band. Denny is one of the most talented drummers in the industry. I would absolutely adore hearing him play again. Are you listening Den? We're still here....and Chris has his own record label and a baby girl. The girls remember you with love and appreciation for everything you did for us....back then. Call us sometime. I wanted to tell Denny that I also have a post card from Boris Fridkin's Famous Troupe of Russian Dancers and that I also have a letter on the Fridkin Troupe letterhead , Feb 7th 1912 104 E 14th St, New York City from Mr and Mrs Fridkin to my Grandmother.
Thought he might be interested. Thanks

It was great reading your article on the group People. Although Denny did not metion it, I think he, John T. and maybe one other of the original People group played in a club I managed in Missoula, Montana. It must have been around 1971 and the band was nammed Drumm. Drumm featured two drummers. Did Denny mention Drumm? Mike

I was the bass player on the Trolls 1965 thru 1966 and do not recall a thing denny was talking about.
