Great live act ("entertainers" is apt) but never really established themselves in the studio. However 'Providence' is a real favourite of mine.

Thanks for this. I first came across Phil & John at university in the mid 80s (around the time of Waiting for Summer) and have enjoyed their music ever since. I bought the Simply collection a little while ago to get something on CD, and wish more was available. I've also enjoyed discovering Phil's recent band The Harbour Lights, who recorded two excellent albums.

My husband has just been playing the 'Live' album, having recently re-discovered it, and it brings back memories of seeing Phil and John on the Christian scene in the 1980's. I remember hearing them for the first time playing 'What Kind of Love is This?" at a Spring Harvest evening celebration in the mid eighties, and I've loved that song ever since. They were wonderfully funny and great songwriters, and they are very much missed!
