My Folk Group and I attended a couple of Ray Repp's workshops in the 70's and are still singing his music yet! We love so many of his songs! In our church, we are not encouraged to sing anything that is not in the music books the congregation uses, so we do not get to sing his beautiful songs as much as we would like.
It would be great if he resumed doing workshops, or even concerts to re-introduce his work to a new generation since his themes are just as viable today!

Do you have a copy of his music? I am searching for Hear O Lord & understand that it is out of print.

As a liturgist\musician, I've been playing Mr. Repp's music for years. We've actually had liturgies where we featured his material. The response was overwhelming. We would love to talk to Mr. Repp in order to obtain the permission needed to record his work.
God Bless,
Jerry

Jerry,
Though this is almost a year after your post, I am such a Ray Repp fan [like you] that I thought I would take the time to reply.
I emailed Ray 4 or 5 years ago and he answered. I used the email address in this web site:
http://home.earthlink.net/~tbegonja/rayrepp.html
I don't know if the email address is still good.
If not, have you tried reaching him via OCP, who distributes his current CDs?
I credit him and his workshops with my liturgical guitar style that I use to this day. My favorite Ray Repp songs: I Am the Light, Follow Me, Till You and Brand New Day. We still use his songs occasionally at the church for which I play.

Ray Repp iwas and is probably the greatest minstrel of the last cantury. His music has been invaluable to connecting what we believe and what we feel in our faith. cccccccccccIt is clear that God has often spoken though Ray's soul and Ray's song has touched most all who have heard them. God Bless Him

The opinions expressed in the Reader Comments are not necessarily those held by Cross Rhythms.
I grew up in Brooklyn, New York and attended Catholic grade school during the 60's. My fondest memories in school is of my music teacher playing the guitar and teaching us the spiritual music of Ray Repp. I have been searching for the lyrics, songsheets and music for many years. I just came upon the name of the producer of this beautiful music today. I am now in my late 40's and my children have heard me recite some of these songs.
Please tell me how I can get copies of this music. My favorites were Hear Oh Lord, Of my hands and many others. Also- does anyone know who made Sons of God?
Sons of God was written by James Theim and recorded by Ray Repp on his first LP called MASS FOR YOUNG AMERICANS. Ray later re-recorded the song (with new chorus lyrics) for his SING PRAISE LP.
