Hello Everyone. I just received this link from Steve Sims. Thanks Steve for the link. It is really touches my heart to hear how so many have been touched by the music. Really great to read the posts from Randy and Lantz. You guys are both awesome brothers in the Lord.! I am proud to know you both. Really a lot of fond memories of our times on the road. The truth is that much of the time we did not know what we were doing, but that didn't stop us from doing it anyway. Just learned as we went. I mean, we learned to be brothers in Christ and expand our lives to receive one another in the band. It was a grew into leaders by doing things that made demands on our lives. Looking back I would say there is much I would do different. What I wouldn't change was each of our commitment to reach our generation for Jesus and I can see that still burning in each of our hearts. Reunion tour would be fun, but it would take a lot of doing at this stage of our lives. I want to thank everyone for sharing your story on here. If you know anyone else who has a story to share, I would love to hear about it. As for a CD repackage of the album, it would be fun to have some. Thanks again everyone. As Randy used to say, "You blessed my socks off!"

I also would love to find a copy of Starting all over again. As some of the others, I can still remember some of those songs and sing them to myself after 30 some years.. your music was - still is special .

I remember "Start All Over Again" and "The Way". They were both a major factor in my coming to Jesus.

I'd sure like to know what sung and played what on Start All Over Again. I found the music on the internet. It should have received a Dove Award.

That album is timeless.

Hey all, great forum! I remember the WBB playing at Purdue when I was in high school in Lafayette IN. Great music and great memories of my church high school youth group. Is there anyway that those albums can be re-released? I've got the sheet music book for Start All Over Again, but the old LP is gone and I'd like to get the recording as well.

Saw the band in person when I lived in Albuquerque in the 70's. Need to replace the album. It was so beautiful, thanks to all who made it possible for us to enjoy and God Bless You All!

I first head the Wall Brothers album in 1974. Now in my 50's I sure do remember liking the their songs and remember playing them over and over throughout the years. I sure would like to purchase these albums in CD form. Is this possible?

I really enjoy reading these comments, and reading Lance's response. What a great guy you are Lance. All of this music is great to have as memories...but what I enjoy most is keeping in touch with Kraig, Greg, and Lance. To know that each of them love the Lord as much or more today than back when we were together. Each are serving the King in the corner of the vineyard that He has planted us...and each is still very much involved in music.
As for me, I planted a church here in Raymore about 6 yrs. ago. www.ePatchwork.com will get you to our site. I spent a lot of years as a youth pastor and traveled around the nation preaching at youth camps and conventions. Life is great today, and I really enjoy the new, young men & women that God has raised up to write some of the best worship music.
I'm enjoying my life with my wife, our daughters and our two grandchildren. Still looking forward to the day when He comes to get us in the Clouds of Glory!

Well John, this forum may be a good place to start. I check in every so often and it looks like Randy does too. So, Randy, please feel free to chime in. First of all, let me say that it is a real blessing that you would consider recording a WBB song. If you are enquiring about recording a cover version of a WBB song, perhaps I can be of some help. It is my understanding that, once a song has been recorded / published, it is "up for grabs" in terms of any subsequent artist recording a cover version, providing that one goes through the proper legal channels. In part, this entails properly crediting the songwriter(s) and publisher on any materials you may publish in relation to the song such as album cover / sleeve art, sheet music, etc.. This is to ensure that any royalties earned would be paid to the owners of the creative property - ie., the writer and publisher. That said, I am less concerned about any potential royalties than I am about you protecting yourself against any possibility of copyright infringement. I would guess that there are many websites available to guide you through the process of setting this up before completing your cover art and releasing a project. Hopefully this is helpful in getting you started John, and won't scare you away from proceeding with your plans!

Hey Randy. Thanks for weighing in here. Hey, folks, Randy and I go back to around 1974 - before either of us were a part of the WBB. We had a little band called "Sparrow" before the record label of the same name, and we played at some local coffee houses together and served as the house band. One called Maranatha and another called The Way Station, which we helped to start with some other friends. A lot of real genuine ministry took place in these little rooms where kids from all over town would come together for times of fellowship, worship and reaching out to the community with the love of Christ. It was during this period that Greg and Kraig were touring and recording as a duo. When they would come home to Sioux City, they would sometimes stop in to play and ask us to back them up on their material. That was the beginning of the WBB and where we got to know one another musically and as friends and colaborers in Christ. Randy was the link between me and the Wall brothers as he was our mutual friend before we met. There were many powerful times of ministry in those days as we saw so many young people come to the Lord and so many others encouraged in their walk. And as musicians we were cutting our teeth and learning the difference between playing for our own ego gratification and playing for the Lord. It wasn't glamorous and there was nothing show-bizzy about it. We were kids serving the Lord because we loved him and wanted everyone to know him. A very innocent, unjaded time and such an honor to be a part of it.

WOW! I am impressed by all the above individuals who recall and listen to the music of this early ccm band. I especially admire the group member Lance DeMers for replying personally to the comments. I too have this original vinyl lp among the many vinyl and cd's of ccm. Your Love is just what I Need, was the first song that I ever heard on ccm radio by the group; I immediately fell in love with the song! Lance, I love the song prior to "Your love.." on the lp that you wrote, Walking on the Water. I am a collector of ccm music old and new; still trying to find several ccm gems (i.e. vinlys). I am glad that I have this album in my huge collection; I never get tired of hearing my fave song "Your Love is Just What I Need". GOD Bless--- Don

Well Mark, I would say that, to my knowledge, there has been no serious discussion of a reunion. But it's always nice when someone expresses an interest as you have. So, thank you for that! But, realistically, I'm not so sure that we could generate enough interest to justify it. For any such thing to occur, I would think it would have to come from Greg and Kraig Wall. As the lead vocalists and founders of the band, it would be most appropriate for them to initiate that discussion. But after 30-plus years a reunion seems doubtful. We are pretty spread out geographically speaking, with Greg in Iowa, Kraig in TN, Randy in MO and me in WA. I can only speak for myself when I say that I would be open to a reunion and have often thought that it would be fun to revisit that chapter of our lives. Music has remained an important part of my life and I continue to record and play live regionally on a regular basis. My wife and I have three sons and they are all songwriter / musicians. So I would say while it is not likely, who knows? Srtanger things have happened! And thanks again for that very kind sentiment.

Don,

I heard you guys as a new Christian on the lawn at the Orange Park Assembly of God, circa 1978. I still have the vinyl. I've actually had it converted at one point to a CD. I keep waving under the nose of our worship leader songs like "Start All OVer Again" and "Where Will You Be Tomorrow?" I"m a classically tained piano player through my late teens. In 1974 I picked up guitar and play in our P&W band at church. Amidst Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman and others, there is still a lot of room for the Wall Brothers. You guys should dust off your shoes a little and make yourselves available for church tours. I'm almost 59 years old and still have a hankering to go out for the Lord and lead people to Him through music. I'd love to see you guys live again. have you talked about it over the years?

Thank you for your kind words, Don. I am so blessed by the many generous comments by you and all of the other folks who have taken the time to post here. The song you mention was a Greg Wall composition and I always enjoyed hearing him sing it. Greg and Kraig were two of the most talented singers I have ever had the pleasure to work with, and their harmonies were just amazing. There is something special about siblings singing together - such a great blend! I have so many wonderful memories of being in the studio in Nashville during the recording of SAOA with Greg, Kraig and Randy. Phil Johnson produced that project and was a joy to work with. It was a special time for 4 friends from Iowa who loved the Lord and were trying to serve him with our talents. We were in awe of Al Perkins and were delighted to have him bring his genius to the project. It was quite a thrill to pull into Nashville and hear our songs being played on the radio. Too many amazing blessings to recount here. God is good.
