This foursome hail from Nigeria though anybody expecting some fiery Afrobeat had better look elsewhere. This is slinky R&B with the sistahs coming on with breathily delicate harmonies while producers Jeff Taylor and Chinaku Danforth programme some lightly funky grooves over which the group can soulfully emote. As is usual when Christian groups go after the R&B market, lyrics become unrelentingly vacuous though the weakness of "Let's Live Together" is, in part at least, offset by a sister rapping in Hausa, Yoruba and Ibo. Overall, one feels that Kush are a good group let down by a far too stylised approach to their music.

Kush is good as a group also individually. Their stuff is unique, I secretly pray they come back as a group. Lara is my favorite.

Hi,

I just heard a single titled Greenlight by 2 Kush Members Emem, who is now known as Mem'O featuring Dapo Torimiro and it is off the chain!

Dapo Torimiro is on the verge of becoming a superstar producer/songwriter. He wrote/produced "Quickly" on John Legend's album with Brandy, and "Running" on David Archuleta's album and "Torn Down" on Brandy's cd HUMAN. Hi all, Dapo Torimiro is on MYSPACE. He is in California now and he's doing very well. He is a producer with a difference. He has spent 2 years in the states already. Dapo was the male member of KUSH. TY Bello and Lara George have released albums and singles on their own. Emem Ema is into creative stuff lately and also holds it down in a law firm on the Island in Lagos. She won a music award from a competition organised by the British Council. TY Bello is also into photography and her splendid images are frequently used in the STYLE Section of ThisDay Newspapers in Nigeria. The 4 members of Kush are doing well individually, but I believe they will come together one day for a sophomore album. Cheers.

Kush was a band I really loved. I love the group's only album '' THE EXPERIENCE'' so much. I feel Kush will come together again. I like their solo moves so far, but they make much impact when they're together. I am doing some research to know what Dapo Torimiro is up to. Dapo was the male member of the group. By the way, who is your favourite Kush Member? Mine is TY Bello. Cheers.

Hey folks, Kush's got one of its member doing something new on a single label though. She's TY (Toyin Bello) and I think Lara's got her one single album as well. Emem Emma has gone into promoting nigerain culture through Music and entertainment; advocating for young talents.
