I did not know that Father Francis Maple was a "celebrity", but I have heard him sing. Whn I was a child in primary school, which was coincidentally called St Francis of Assisi, he was Brothe Francis, and he lived in our parish Friary, again called St Francis and Anthony Church in Crawley, West Sussex. He was a very young man then. This was between 1957 and 1963. It would be nice to think that he might read this and maybe remember a little girl called Francesca Palmieri. I will look out for his music in the shops.

Hello
I have the video `The Old Rugged Cross`
I also have the `original` copy of that video because I was the producer of it in 2002.
I therefore still own that which I personally produced.
The video contains 16 songs.
If anyone is interested please leave me a message.
thank you.

Hi, It seems like Fr Francis is very popular: maybe someone could gather a few CDs and copy them with the proceeds going to the talented Father.
I bought one last week on a car boot sale and would gladly pay whatever for a few more.
Regards.
Malcolm.

Hello,
There is a BBC news story about him (full name Father Francis Maple) moving from Chester to St Walburg's friary in preston.
I just rang the Blackpool tourist office and the lady there said she had heard of him being Clevelys (near Blackpool) recently on a regular basis.
He did used to sing outside the Hounds Hill shopping centre at Blackpool.

I am desperately trying to find a cd copy of "I watch the sun rise" for my mums funeral. Does anyone know where I might get a copy from. I have a couple of his cassettes but it isn't on them.

My Taid had a Father Francis tape when I was younger and I loved listening to songs/hymns such as 'The Streets of London' and 'The Old Rugged Cross'. When my Taid passed away in 2006, the tape was given away to charity but I would dearly love to get a copy as the music holds so many memories . I don't remember the title of the tape but I do remember the cover was mainly brown. Any ideas?
how can i get hold of one of his cds with the old rugged cross on? please can some one let me know many thanks
