Te Liverpudlian Elim singer/songwriter releases these five tracks on free download (plus two more on the CD if you purchase a copy). Musically, this is generally synthesiser-driven rock, with the more reflective, slower "Fully Satisfied" providing a mid-point breather. "Fully Satisfied" is a more Delirious?-sounding track while "I'm Alive" has a Wakeman-style keyboard riff running throughout overlaying the pounding drums. "Fire" wants God to burn in the soul and "Heavens Open" reflects the coming of the kingdom of God. Vocals and lyrics are really important and the mix ensures they are clear and audible above the music. Sometimes there is over repetition of the choruses, but they do hook into the brain. A commendable extension to Yates' fast growing body of work.
