This five-track Christmas EP from an Edinburgh-based singer/songwriter kicks off with a rendition of the evergreen "O Come O Come Emmanuel", starting quietly with vocals over a plucked guitar before getting the Coldplay treatment and soaring into a higher gear from the second verse. That is followed by "Go Tell It On The Mountain V2" with a chugging synth bass while "Holy, Holy, Holy" gets a elegant piano working with effective vocal harmonies building to the climax with a subtle synth wash. A similar approach is taken to "O Holy Night" and the closing "The First Noel". This 2015 EP is hardly groundbreaking but the arrangements here do bring some freshness to over-familiar yuletide songs.
