Original Prayer

Dear God, I am very addicted to food. I keep eating all the time when I am not hungry. I can't seem to stop. I need your help God, I need you to show me the way out of this addiction. I don't know why I eat until I am absolutley stuffed, to the point of almost vomitting. Dear God you know me, all of me, I pray that you would help me to overcome this addiction. I know that you can help, you helped me overcome masturbating, daydreaming of men other then my husband. You gave me a way to quit drugs, alcohol and smoking cigarettes. I know you can help me with this. I pray that you would make your presense know to me in a very real way when I am tempted to eat what I shouldn't or more than what I need. Amen

Dear Debbie, my name is Lisa and I am a compulsive over-eater. I am also a commited Christian and did pray often about the problem. About a month ago, the Lord led me to a group called Overeaters Anonymous and it is there that I have found a solution. I now go to a meeting at least once a week, have a sponsor/spiritual advisor and work the 12 step programme of Alcoholics Anonymous. This program can be applied to any addiction or compulsive disease. It is based on Biblical principles. I used it before for heroin addiction and have now been off for 20 years. The people there are all very understanding and helpful as we are all in the same boat. I wonder if there is an O.A.meeting in your area as you would be welcome to go along and see what it's like. You can type it into google as they have a website with a list of meetings throughout Britain. I pray this will be the solution for you too as it is certainly an answer to prayer for me and many. Jesus I just pray that you will come and heal Debbie of her addictions I just pray that she will come to you .and show her the wright way. I also pray that you will purify her body. Just trust in god he will overcome you from your addictions. Amen.
