Now this is good, black gospel at its best, emotional, fiery and pumping. Always felt the ancient gospel matriarch had one of the best voices around, which was confirmed as the dear lady leaped into the opener "Don't Let Nobody Turn You Around" and shook it like a Jack Russell terrier with a rat. That's followed by a struttin', jazzy version of a fine old song "When God Dips His Love In My Heart". And how the choir wades in too, not surprising when you find that O'Landa Draper's in the choral driving seat. Some more gentle, meditative sections in the concert too, adding balance and shading. Particularly enjoyed the duet on "Where Could I Go" with Dorothy Norwood, but a solid set throughout.
